Upstate stroke care ‘almost magical’ with breakthrough stents

“What happened in that hospital was almost magical,” Tina Fietta told The Post-Standard in a story this morning about her mother’s stroke. She was speaking of the new stent being used at Upstate which removes clots from the brains of patients having strokes. The stent, called the Solitaire FR Revascularization Device, was recently approved for use by the FDA. Upstate is the only hospital in Syracuse where it is available.
